Armed Forces In Siam Thai

The Armed forces in Siam Thai mainly comprises of – Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Navy, Royal Thai Air Force and other paramilitary forces. In general, the Royal Thai Armed Forces is the name of the military of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Armed forces in Thailand is managed by the Ministry of Defense Thailand which is headed by Ministry of Defense and commanded by the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquaters, which in turn is headed by the Chief of Defense forces of Thailand. The Head of the Thai Armed Forces is his Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej however, the position is only nominal.

The primary role of the Siam Thai Armed forces is to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the kingdom of Thailand. The Armed Forces is also charged with the defense of the aristocracy and the Monarchy of Thailand against all threats both foreign and domestic. Besides this, Armed forces in Siam Thai are also responsible for public order and participate in social development programs by aiding the civilian government. The Armed Forces is also charged with supporting victims of national disasters as well as drug control.

At present the Armed forces in Siam Thai comprises of 306,600 personnel. According to the constitution of Siam Thai, to serve in Armed Forces or for the country is a duty of all the people and citizens of this country. But only males above 21 yrs of age who have taken the reserve training are subjected to a random draft. Those who have been selected randomly are generally subjected to 24 months full time services whereas the volunteers are normally subjected to 18 months service, depending on their education.

Those candidates who have completed their graduation of bachelor’s degree are usually subjected to one year of full-time service if they choose the random draft, or 6 months if they volunteer at their respective district office. However, the training length is also minimized for those candidates you have taken 3-year reserve training course. Candidates who completed one year out of three will only have to serve full-time for one year. However, those with two years of reserve training will only have to do 6 months of full-time training. While those who complete 3 years or more of reserve training will be exempted. However, serving in Armed Forces in Siam Thai is the duty of all citizens.
